Head of RA Police Receives Head of EU Delegation to Armenia (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

On Tuesday, April 2, RA Police Chief Valery Osipyan received Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, Ambassador Mr. Piotr Antoni Switalski.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Valeri Osipyan highly assessed the close cooperation between Armenia and the European Union and presented details of the ongoing police reforms.
He spoke about the upcoming introduction of the points system within the traffic police and creation of the new mobile patrol service in Yerevan.
The Head of the Police of the Republic of Armenia noted that relevant work is being carried out in this direction to have an efficient and high-quality subdivision.
Piotr Switalski thanked for the warm reception, welcomed the reforms in the police and expressed support for their implementation.
The ambassador noted that positive changes in the police have recently been quite noticeable. It is also due to the fact that the public confidence in the police has grown substantially.
The sides discussed issues related to the exchange of experience, organization of trainings with the participation of relevant European specialists in the field of mobile patrol service, retraining, equipping of the subdivisions and fitting out the officers with appropriate uniforms.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
